Description: AVigillant Carpark is the first official release of music by Sasha Grey and her cohort Pablo St. Francis and it is made up of recordings that go back to 2005. Included here are 6 short vignettes of noise, abstract dub, and thick, heavy soundscapes; sensual and dark, erotically-charged and bleak. Sasha has described it as an “experimental death dub orgasm kind of project…” I think that sounds pretty close. This is a record you have to hear.

Description: 35 tracks in 69 minutes! Rippers and Creepers is an eclectic mixtape and aural document featuring a killer clutch of underground artists, a snapshot of the “grotesque sounds of now”. Each group/artist contributes one short two-minute piece that either “rips” or “creeps” based on their own interpretation. The tracks compiled have been collaged and stitched together to make one long continuous track on each side of the tape resulting in a non-interrupted journey beyond the fringe. Curated and with artwork by Todd Brooks, Rippers and Creepers is a part of Pendu Org’s continued efforts to promote “esoteric ostranenie of contemporary weirdo culture”.

What’s a ripper?? A fucking torrent of sound, a rush, a jolt cola of frenzied euphoria and frenetic elation. It’s about loud music, fucking erotic, visceral and extreme.

What’s a creeper?? Good creepers are about shifting dynamics, open spaces, letting the sounds pulse and breathe. Creepers are not about making quiet sounds. They’re about restraining heavy sounds… Creepers are about creating unsettling and unnerving atmospheres and of course, before we get to serious, great creepers are about party-killing and all around bad-vibing.

About the title: some years ago our friend Clément told us he got a phone call that woke him up during the night. The unknown voice on the other side just kept saying “viscal… viscal…” which doesn’t mean anything in french by the way but sounds like some strange mix between “fiscal” and “visqueux” (“viscous”)… scary… seemed perfect for the compilation.

Description: These two bands are perfectly juxtaposed for a split, complimenting each other in their unique ways. Both create atmospheric spontaneous primitivist jamms from junk and homemade electronics. Ghost Moth is a trio that features multi-instrumentalist Daniel Carter, a long time veteran of NYC’s avant-garde. They open their side with a with a clarinet-led ecstatic ripper before collaging into a hissy live damaged flute jammy and lastly groping a clanging broken-scaper laced with late-night trumpet. Fossils begin their side with random scrapes and bluesey reverberations before heading into abstract scuzz and ghostly haunts.
