Sasha Grey is a well-known, award-winning porn actress who has been in, let’s just say, a whole lot of films. She’s a performance artist who takes it all to a new level. Known for sometimes violent and rough erotic actions, Sasha is unafraid to push boundaries and limits. She’s won multiple AVN (Adult Video Network) awards including the coveted Female Performer of the Year (2008). She was Penthouse Pet of the Month (July 2007). She was featured on VBS (Vice) TV’s ‘Shot by Kern’. …and on… Recently she was the star of Steven Soderberg’s ”The Girlfriend Experience” (2009) and has started her own company to release films that she produces.

…but most people don’t know that Sasha is deeply into music and is an amazing musician who has been playing since she was a young teenager. How many porn stars have you heard of that are not only musicians but musicians who draw inspiration from artists such as Cosey Fanni Tutti of Throbbing Gristle and David Tibet of Current 93? NONE. There is only one Sasha Grey.

What’s her music sound like? Mutant soundscapes from a warped and perverted mind. Explorations of noise and ambience, textured hyper-dreamworlds. Coil and Nurse With Wound are both obvious reference points to begin with before branching out into the world of dark ambient and death-dub.

New LP entitled “A Cassette Tape Culture” to be released Arpril 27, 2010. Go to the Releases page to learn more.
